Bellossom 4/98 · Ancient Origins

Bellossom is Pokédex #182, generation 2 (Johto). Bellossom is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 120 HP. The card says it evolves from Gloom. In this catalog that name is Gloom (#044).

Bellossom sits at 4/98 in Ancient Origins, position 4 of 101. Before it is 3 Vileplume, and after it is 5 Spinarak. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on August 12, 2015. The printed size is 98. This checklist is longer, at 101 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Windmill lists 20 damage. The cost is Grass. Switch this Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Flower Tornado is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Move as many Grass Energy attached to your Pokémon to your other Pokémon in any way you like. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "When the heavy rainfall season ends, it is drawn out by warm sunlight to dance in the open."

Bellossom (#182) has 11 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 10 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2023. The earliest other card is Bellossom 3/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Uncommon. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Mizue illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 10 other cards of Bellossom list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Mizue. I count 184 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Ancient Origins set binder is where a full Ancient Origins set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Bellossom can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
