Amoonguss 96/86 · Black Bolt

Amoonguss is Pokédex #591, generation 5 (Unova). Amoonguss is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 120 HP. The card says it evolves from Foongus. In this catalog that name is Foongus (#590).

Amoonguss sits at 96/86 in Black Bolt, position 95 of 171. Before it is 95 Foongus, and after it is 97 Darumaka. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on July 18, 2025. The printed size is 86. This checklist is longer, at 171 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 86. The listed rarity is Illustration Rare.

The attack Dangerous Reaction lists 30+ damage. The cost is Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon is affected by a Special Condition, this attack does 120 more damage. Seed Bomb is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It lures prey close by dancing and waving its arm caps, which resemble Poké Balls, in a swaying motion." The regulation mark is I.

Amoonguss (#591) has 10 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 10 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Amoonguss 10/101 in Noble Victories (2011). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Illustration Rare. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and OKUBO illustrated this one. 9 other cards of Amoonguss list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads OKUBO. I count 20 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Black Bolt set binder is where a full Black Bolt set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Amoonguss can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
