Feraligatr HGSS07/25 · HGSS Black Star Promos

HGSS Black Star Promos is a set in the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on 10 February 2010. The printed size is 25, and the checklist is the same length. Feraligatr is HGSS07/25, in position 7 of 25 on this checklist. Before it is HGSS06 Noctowl, and after it is HGSS08 Meganium. The listed rarity is Promo.

Feraligatr is a Stage 2 Prime Water Pokémon with 140 HP. In the Pokédex this is Feraligatr (#160), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Croconaw. In this catalog that name is Croconaw (#159).

Kent Kanetsuna illustrated this card. The same name is on 74 other cards in the catalog.

Feraligatr (#160) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Feraligatr 4/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 140 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Kent Kanetsuna illustrated this one. 20 other cards of Feraligatr list a different HP.

Rain Dance is listed as Poké-Power. As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), you may attach a Water Energy from your hand to 1 of your Water Pokémon. This power can't be used if Feraligatr is affected by a Special Condition. The attack Hydro Crunch lists 60+ damage. The cost is Water, Water, Water, Water. Does 60 damage plus 10 more damage for each damage counter on the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 3.

I keep a set binder for HGSS Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the HGSS Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Feraligatr can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Johto starters. I still need this card.
