Shiinotic SM10/248 · SM Black Star Promos

SM Black Star Promos is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 3 February 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. Shiinotic is SM10/248, in position 10 of 251 on this checklist. Before it is SM09 Togedemaru, and after it is SM11 Bruxish. The listed rarity is Promo.

Shiinotic is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Shiinotic (#756), generation 7 (Alola). The card says it evolves from Morelull. In this catalog that name is Morelull (#755).

Mizue illustrated this card. The same name is on 184 other cards in the catalog.

Shiinotic (#756) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 6 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2024. The earliest other card is Shiinotic 17/149 in Sun & Moon (2017). Both list 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. 3 other cards of Shiinotic list a different HP.

Illuminate is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may search your deck for a Grass Pokémon, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck. The attack Flickering Spores lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Asleep. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It emits flickering spores that cause drowsiness. When its prey succumb to sleep, this Pokémon feeds on them by sucking in their energy."

I keep a set binder for SM Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the SM Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiinotic can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). I still need this card.
