Shiinotic 80/189 · Darkness Ablaze

Shiinotic is Pokédex #756, generation 7 (Alola). Shiinotic is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Morelull. In this catalog that name is Morelull (#755).

Shiinotic sits at 80/189 in Darkness Ablaze, position 80 of 201. Before it is 79 Morelull, and after it is 81 Mimikyu. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 14 August 2020. The printed size is 189. This checklist is longer, at 201 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Flickering Light lists 30 damage. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, during your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokémon can't attack. Fear the Forest is another attack lists 60+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. If Glimwood Tangle is in play, this attack does 60 more damage. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Its flickering spores lure in prey and put them to sleep. Once this Pokémon has its prey snoozing, it drains their vitality with its fingertips." The regulation mark is D.

Shiinotic (#756) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 6 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2024. The earliest other card is Shiinotic 17/149 in Sun & Moon (2017). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Uncommon. Mizue illustrated that card, and Misa Tsutsui illustrated this one. 5 other cards of Shiinotic list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Misa Tsutsui. I count 94 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Darkness Ablaze set binder is where a full Darkness Ablaze set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shiinotic can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). I still need this card.
