Celebi 50/53 · Wizards Black Star Promos

Celebi is Pokédex #251, generation 2 (Johto). Celebi is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 50 HP.

Celebi sits at 50/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos, position 50 of 53. Before it is 49 Snorlax, and after it is 51 Rapidash. The set belongs to the Base series. It was released on July 1, 1999. The printed size is 53, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Leaf Slice lists 20× damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Flip 2 coins. This attack does 20 damage times the number of heads. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

Celebi (#251) has 35 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2025. The earliest other card is Celebi 3/64 in Neo Revelation (2001). Both list 50 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Hironobu Yoshida illustrated that card, and Hajime Kusajima illustrated this one. 31 other cards of Celebi list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Hajime Kusajima. I count 206 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Wizards Black Star Promos set binder is where a full Wizards Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Celebi can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
