Darkrai-EX BW46/101 · BW Black Star Promos

Darkrai is Pokédex #491, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Darkrai-EX is a Basic EX Darkness Pokémon with 180 HP.

Darkrai-EX sits at BW46/101 in BW Black Star Promos, position 46 of 101. Before it is BW45 Mewtwo-EX, and after it is BW47 Rayquaza-EX. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on March 1, 2011. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Promo.

Dark Cloak is listed as Ability. Each of your Pokémon that has any Darkness Energy attached to it has no Retreat Cost. The attack Night Spear lists 90 damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless. Does 30 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Darkrai (#491) has 40 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Darkrai LV.X DP19/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Darkrai LV.X, while this one is Darkrai-EX. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Toyste Beach illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 30 other cards of Darkrai list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Toyste Beach. I count 284 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

BW Black Star Promos set binder is where a full BW Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Darkrai can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
