Groudon 17/25 · Celebrations

Celebrations is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on October 8, 2021. The printed size is 25, and the checklist is the same length. Groudon is 17/25, in position 17 of 25 on this checklist. Before it is 16 Zacian V, and after it is 18 Zamazenta V. The listed rarity is Rare.

Groudon is a Basic Fighting Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Groudon (#383), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Ryuta Fuse illustrated this card. The same name is on 98 other cards in the catalog.

Groudon (#383) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Groudon ex 2/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Groudon ex, while this one is Groudon. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. Kazuo Yazawa illustrated that card, and Ryuta Fuse illustrated this one. 26 other cards of Groudon list a different HP.

The attack Magma Volcano lists 80× damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless. Discard the top 5 cards of your deck. This attack does 80 damage for each Energy card you discarded in this way. Massive Rend is another attack lists 120 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "This legendary Pokémon is said to represent the land. It went to sleep after dueling Kyogre." The regulation mark is E.

I keep a set binder for Celebrations, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Celebrations set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Groudon can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
