Donphan 42/95 · Call of Legends

Call of Legends is a set in the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on February 9, 2011. The printed size is 95. This checklist is longer, at 106 cards. Donphan is 42/95, in position 42 of 106 on this checklist. Before it is 41 Croconaw, and after it is 43 Flaaffy. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Donphan is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Donphan (#232), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Phanpy. In this catalog that name is Phanpy (#231).

Midori Harada illustrated this card. The same name is on 352 other cards in the catalog.

Donphan (#232) has 20 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Donphan 21/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Midori Harada illustrated this one. 18 other cards of Donphan list a different HP.

The attack Rock Hurl lists 50 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. This attack's damage isn't affected by Resistance. Double Spin is another attack lists 70× damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. Flip 2 coins. This attack does 70 damage times the number of heads. Weakness is Water ×2. Resistance is Lightning -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It has sharp, hard tusks and a rugged hide. Its tackle is strong enough to knock down a house."

I keep a set binder for Call of Legends, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Call of Legends set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Donphan can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
