Prinplup 58/130 · Diamond & Pearl

Prinplup is Pokédex #394, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Prinplup is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 20. The card says it evolves from Piplup. In this catalog that name is Piplup (#393). The card lists Empoleon, Empoleon (#395) under evolves to.

Prinplup sits at 58/130 in Diamond & Pearl, position 58 of 130. Before it is 57 Nuzleaf, and after it is 59 Rapidash. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on May 1, 2007. The printed size is 130, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Aqua Shower lists no damage number. The cost is Water. Does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Brine is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Water, Water. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon that has any damage counters on it. This attack does 40 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Lightning +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It lives alone, away from others. Apparently, every one of them believes it is the most important."

Prinplup (#394) has 9 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2008 to 2025. The earliest other card is Prinplup 44/100 in Majestic Dawn (2008). Both list 80 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Kent Kanetsuna illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 4 other cards of Prinplup list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ken Sugimori. I count 1,112 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Diamond & Pearl set binder is where a full Diamond & Pearl set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Prinplup can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Sinnoh starters. I still need this card.
