Shining Celebi SM79/248 · SM Black Star Promos

Celebi is Pokédex #251, generation 2 (Johto). Shining Celebi is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 70 HP.

Shining Celebi sits at SM79/248 in SM Black Star Promos, position 80 of 251. Before it is SM78 Champions Festival, and after it is SM80 Ho-Oh-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on February 3, 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

Time Recall is listed as Ability. Each of your evolved Pokémon can use any attack from its previous Evolutions. (You still need the necessary Energy to use each attack.) The attack Leaf Step lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This Pokémon wanders across time. Grass and trees flourish in the forests in which it has appeared."

Celebi (#251) has 35 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Celebi 50/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Celebi, while this one is Shining Celebi. That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Hajime Kusajima illustrated that card, and Sanosuke Sakuma illustrated this one. 27 other cards of Celebi list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Sanosuke Sakuma. I count 158 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SM Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SM Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Celebi can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
