Xatu 152/91 · Paldean Fates

Xatu is Pokédex #178, generation 2 (Johto). Xatu is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 100 HP. The card says it evolves from Natu. In this catalog that name is Natu (#177).

Xatu sits at 152/91 in Paldean Fates, position 152 of 245. Before it is 151 Natu, and after it is 153 Ralts. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on January 26, 2024. The printed size is 91. This checklist is longer, at 245 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 91. The listed rarity is Shiny Rare.

Clairvoyant Sense is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may attach a Basic Psychic Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. If you attached Energy to a Pokémon in this way, draw 2 cards. The attack Super Psy Bolt lists 80 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -30. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "This odd Pokémon can see both the past and the future. It eyes the sun's movement all day." The regulation mark is G.

Xatu (#178) has 19 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2024. The earliest other card is Xatu 52/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Shiny Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and nagimiso illustrated this one. 15 other cards of Xatu list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads nagimiso. I count 156 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Paldean Fates set binder is where a full Paldean Fates set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Xatu can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
