Meganium 3/122 · BREAKpoint

BREAKpoint is a set in the XY series. It was released on February 3, 2016. The printed size is 122. This checklist is longer, at 126 cards. Meganium is 3/122, in position 3 of 126 on this checklist. Before it is 2 Bayleef, and after it is 4 Seedot. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Meganium is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 150 HP. In the Pokédex this is Meganium (#154), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Bayleef. In this catalog that name is Bayleef (#153).

kawayoo illustrated this card. The same name is on 209 other cards in the catalog.

Meganium (#154) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 11 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Meganium 10/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 150 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and kawayoo illustrated this one. 13 other cards of Meganium list a different HP.

Overgrow is listed as Ability. If this Pokémon's remaining HP is 50 or less, its attacks do 70 more damage to your opponent's Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance). The attack Green Force lists 50 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless. Heal from this Pokémon the same amount of damage you did to your opponent's Active Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Meganium's breath has the power to revive dead grass and plants. It can make them healthy again."

I keep a set binder for BREAKpoint, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BREAKpoint set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Meganium can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Johto starters. I still need this card.
