Darkrai-EX 63/108 · Dark Explorers

Dark Explorers is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on May 9, 2012. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 111 cards. Darkrai-EX is 63/108, in position 63 of 111 on this checklist. Before it is 62 Sableye, and after it is 64 Sandile. The listed rarity is Rare Holo EX.

Darkrai-EX is a Basic EX Darkness Pokémon with 180 HP. In the Pokédex this is Darkrai (#491), generation 4 (Sinnoh).

Shizurow illustrated this card. The same name is on 79 other cards in the catalog.

Darkrai (#491) has 40 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Darkrai LV.X DP19/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Darkrai LV.X, while this one is Darkrai-EX. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 180 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo EX. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 30 other cards of Darkrai list a different HP.

Dark Cloak is listed as Ability. Each of your Pokémon that has any Darkness Energy attached to it has no Retreat Cost. The attack Night Spear lists 90 damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless. Does 30 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Dark Explorers, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Dark Explorers set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Darkrai can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
