Torterra 30/100 · Majestic Dawn

Torterra is Pokédex #389, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Torterra is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 140 HP. The card lists level 51. The card says it evolves from Grotle. In this catalog that name is Grotle (#388).

Torterra sits at 30/100 in Majestic Dawn, position 30 of 100. Before it is 29 Scizor, and after it is 31 Toxicroak. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on May 1, 2008. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Earthquake lists 60 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Does 10 damage to each of your Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Frenzy Plant is another attack lists 100 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Torterra can't use Frenzy Plant during your next turn. Weakness is Fire +30. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "Groups of this Pokémon migrating in search of water have been mistaken for "moving forests.""

Torterra (#389) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 10 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2024. The earliest other card is Torterra 17/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 140 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Masahiko Ishii illustrated that card, and Daisuke Ito illustrated this one. 8 other cards of Torterra list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Daisuke Ito. I count 47 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Majestic Dawn set binder is where a full Majestic Dawn set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Torterra can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
