Torterra 10/95 · HS—Unleashed

Torterra is Pokédex #389, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Torterra is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 140 HP. The card says it evolves from Grotle. In this catalog that name is Grotle (#388).

Torterra sits at 10/95 in HS—Unleashed, position 10 of 96. Before it is 9 Sudowoodo, and after it is 11 Xatu. The set belongs to the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on May 12, 2010. The printed size is 95. This checklist is longer, at 96 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Giga Drain lists 40 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Remove from Torterra the number of damage counters equal to the damage you did to the Defending Pokémon. Land Crush is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "Ancient people imagined that beneath the ground, a gigantic Torterra dwelled."

Torterra (#389) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 10 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2024. The earliest other card is Torterra 17/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 140 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Masahiko Ishii illustrated that card, and match illustrated this one. 8 other cards of Torterra list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads match. I count 143 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

HS—Unleashed set binder is where a full HS—Unleashed set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Torterra can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
