Jirachi ◇ 97/168 · Celestial Storm

Celestial Storm is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on August 3, 2018. The printed size is 168. This checklist is longer, at 187 cards. Jirachi ◇ is 97/168, in position 98 of 187 on this checklist. Before it is 96 Registeel, and after it is 98 Heatran. The listed rarity is Rare Prism Star.

Jirachi ◇ is a Basic Prism Star Metal Pokémon with 80 HP. In the Pokédex this is Jirachi (#385), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Kouki Saitou illustrated this card. The same name is on 652 other cards in the catalog.

Jirachi (#385) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Jirachi 21/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Jirachi, while this one is Jirachi ◇. That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Prism Star. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. 28 other cards of Jirachi list a different HP.

Wish Upon a Star is listed as Ability. If you took this Pokémon as a face-down Prize card during your turn and your Bench isn't full, before you put it into your hand, you may put it onto your Bench and take 1 more Prize card. The attack Perish Dream lists 10 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. This Pokémon is now Asleep. At the end of your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokémon will be Knocked Out. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: ◇ (Prism Star) Rule: You can't have more than 1 ◇ card with the same name in your deck. If a ◇ card would go to the discard pile, put it in the Lost Zone instead. The flavor text reads "It is said to have the ability to grant any wish for just one week every thousand years."

I keep a set binder for Celestial Storm, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Celestial Storm set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Jirachi can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Prism Star and Star cards. I still need this card.
