Darkrai XY22/211 · XY Black Star Promos

Darkrai is Pokédex #491, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Darkrai is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 120 HP.

Darkrai sits at XY22/211 in XY Black Star Promos, position 22 of 216. Before it is XY21 Bronzong, and after it is XY23 Shiftry. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on October 12, 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Hypnoblast lists 30 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Asleep. Deep Wind is another attack lists 60+ damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon is Asleep, this attack does 60 more damage and heal 30 damage from this Pokémon. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It chases people and Pokémon from its territory by causing them to experience deep, nightmarish slumbers."

Darkrai (#491) has 40 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Darkrai LV.X DP19/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Darkrai LV.X, while this one is Darkrai. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 120 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and Sanosuke Sakuma illustrated this one. 37 other cards of Darkrai list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Sanosuke Sakuma. I count 158 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

XY Black Star Promos set binder is where a full XY Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Darkrai can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
