Entei HGSS20/25 · HGSS Black Star Promos

Entei is Pokédex #244, generation 2 (Johto). Entei is a Basic Fire Pokémon with 80 HP.

Entei sits at HGSS20/25 in HGSS Black Star Promos, position 20 of 25. Before it is HGSS19 Raikou, and after it is HGSS21 Suicune. The set belongs to the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on February 10, 2010. The printed size is 25, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Flare Blitz lists 80 damage. The cost is Fire, Fire, Colorless. Discard all Fire Energy attached to Entei. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Volcanoes erupt when it barks. Unable to contain its sheer power, it races headlong around the land."

Entei (#244) has 34 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Entei 34/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). Both list 80 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Yuri Umemura illustrated this one. 30 other cards of Entei list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Yuri Umemura. I count 5 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

HGSS Black Star Promos set binder is where a full HGSS Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Entei can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
